Hi, I’m Abbie — a certified personal trainer and online coach based in Kilkenny. I run a private, women-only personal training studio where I help women build confidence, strength, and a lifestyle they actually enjoy — whether that’s in-person or online.
My own fitness journey started back in 2021 when I hit a wall. I was tired of feeling like crap, eating junk, and putting myself last. My hobbies at the time mostly involved nights out and seeking approval from everyone but myself — and honestly, I’d just had enough. I wanted to feel better in my body and my mind. I wanted to learn how to use the gym properly (without the awkward confusion). Most of all, I needed an outlet — something that was just for me.
The problem? I had crippling gym anxiety. I couldn’t even bring myself to walk through the doors to sign up. I drove to the gym more than once and never got out of the car. The fear was real.
But I kept telling myself: Feel the fear and do it anyway. Eventually, I did. I started going at 6:00am so no one I knew would see me (yes, I was that anxious). I stuck to a quiet corner of the gym and hoped no one noticed me. Spoiler alert: they didn’t — turns out, everyone’s too busy worrying about themselves to care what you’re doing.
Over time, my confidence grew. I fell in love with training — not just for how it changed my body, but for how it made me feel mentally. It gave me a routine, a sense of purpose, and a relationship with myself I never had before.
That’s when I knew: I wanted to help other women feel the same. Much to my parents' delight, I dropped out of college and enrolled in a personal training course at DCU. I threw myself into learning everything I could — and experience is everything, so I went back to the very gym I was once too afraid to walk into and worked on the gym floor for two years.
During that time, I worked with women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and fitness levels. I learned how to meet people where they are — and how to make the gym feel a little less scary and a lot more empowering.
That brings me to today — where I now run my own private personal training studio just for women.
